- Dad graduated from Northwester State Univ. as the #1 R.O.T.C. Cadet in the nation that accepted a commission. He had a 29 year Army Career as an Artillery Officer. Served 2 tours in Vietnam, one in the Central Highlands during the 1968 Tet Offensive. Also helped coordinate deployments from Germany during Operations Desert Shield and Storm.
- My mom is an amazing and strong woman. She was an Army Wife during a time without email, skype, facetime or cell phones. She buried her father, mother, grandmother and brother.
- My Poppa Doy served in W.W. II. He fought at the Battle of the Bulge. That was the last offensive of the German Army and the largest land battle the U.S. Army has ever fought. He was captured and survived a German P.O.W. Camp. I was fortunate to get to know him.
- Uncle Jack fought in W.W. II. He also survived a German P.O.W. Camp. Had a brother that fought in Korea and he survived a Korean P.O.W. Camp
- My first wife’s grandfather was a bomber pilot in W.W. II. I was fortunate to get to know him.
- My wife had a relative, LB Lane served in the Army during W.W. II. He fought in North Africa against German General Erwin Rommel’s forces and Italy.
- Uncle Jim was Helicopter Pilot in the Army
- My Cousin Winn served in the Marines and was deployed during Operation Desert Shield / Storm.
